THIS EVENT HAS PASSED. INFORMATION ON THIS PAGE MAY NO LONGER BE ACCURATE.

Congratulations to guest Jennifer Bradey of the NRA – winner of the Coveted Golden Grog Award on the May 19th edition of The SoapBox Radio Show.

Jennifer, an advocate for the rights of gun owners, debated Dana Quist of the Million Mom March organization. Both speakers were extremely knowledgeable and passionate about their positions on the balance between the rights of the individual and the interest of public safety, but Jennifer ended up winning the online voting 53.8% to 46.2%. Dana’s 46% vote was impressive considering the The SoapBox poll on the issue of Gun Control ran 95% - 5% in favor of Jennifer’s position.

SHOW SUMMARY

Is the right to keep and bear arms an absolute right for all Americans? How do we balance the interest of public safety with the right of individuals to own guns? Should there be restrictions on who can and can’t purchase weapons? Should there be restrictions on the type of weapons that can be legally purchased? And if so, should such restrictions be enforced through Federal or State laws? Would America be better off if more or less private citizens owned guns?

Join Dana Quist from the Brady Campaign’s Million Mom Chapter as she squares off against Jennifer Bradey of the NRA over the 2nd Amendment and Gun Control on the Saturday, May 19th edition of The SoapBox Radio Show!
